Schotsman Enterprises Ltd. has, as a company, developed and diversified over these many years. The company was founded out of a love for photography. The owners of the company, Simon & Christina Schotsman, were avid photographers. Their library of 35 mm slides grew into the thousands. While being stored in plastic pages, the slides were ruined by the chemicals in the plastic as well as the entrapment of moisture in each individual plastic pocket and so, a solution had to be found to safely file the slides. Our search to find an affordable, safe slide filing system was unsuccessful. Considering our need and the needs of others facing the same problem, we invented and patented the Slide Management System known as the Stor-editor. Besides many other features, its primary design functions were to avoid chemical contamination and to eliminate moisture entrapment. For years, Simon worked in the electrical business. His success and solid growth as a contractor provided him with the "seed money" to bring his idea to development. While the new product line in Canada was handled by Schotsman Enterprises Ltd, contact was established with Luxor Corporation in Waukegan, IL. Luxor is an audio visual specialty product manufacturer. At the time of this first contact, it was learned that Luxor had searched for five years to develop a Slide Management System of their own, but had been unsuccessful. Our contact changed all that and Luxor became our exclusive distributor for all of the U.S.A. In turn, we took on the Luxor line and became a Luxor distributor for all of Canada. This 25 year old relationship is still as strong as the day it was instituted. In fact, as a result of this relationship, we have now embarked on a whole new product line by giving Luxor's Endura line of plastic carts a whole new dimension never envisioned before.

As we all know, the growing technology field has given us MP3's, DVD's, digital and electronic storage....not great prospects for the slide management business. Continuing exclusively in that line of business was not an option.
